Sleeping Bag Liners & Travel Sheets
Read More

A sleeping bag liner is a thin, lightweight sleeping bag or sheet inserted inside a regular sleeping bag to improve comfort, hygiene and warmth. Some liners add up to 8°C of extra warmth, making them great for cold-weather camping. Sleeping bag liners are particularly useful for down filled sleeping bags because these bags are more difficult to wash and dry. A sleeping bag liner helps keep sweat, dirt and body oils off the sleeping bag, reducing the need for frequent washing. In hot weather, a sleeping bag liner can be used on it’s own as a lightweight sleep sack. Silk sleeping bag liners are the most luxurious and ultralight so a good choice for backpackers. Their downside is their durability and cost. Cotton sleeping bag liners are durable and relatively cheap but they are not the best because they tend to be heavy and bulky so are really only ideal for budget camping or home use. There is a wide range of manmade alternative fabrics used to make sleeping bag liner, including micro fleece - which is particularly warm but quite bulky, thermolite - not quite as warm as micro fleece but lightweight and breathable and various polyester blends - all of which tend to be quick drying and easy to wash.
